Our Philosphy

Cult Racing Cycles is the brainchild of Paul Prince and Salim Abuteir. Paul has raced, promoted and generally ridden a bike for as long as he can remember. Salim, on the other hand, only took up cycling 2 years ago and is now hooked on the sport

When we setup the shop, we realised anyone can go to a myriad of bike shops locally and nationally and anyone can get cheap gear off the internet, so how could we be different

Customer service was the answer. Offer customers what they normally expect from a bike shop... and more. So we've bent over backwards to make this happen and thats why we're open 7 days a week, open late, have an internet bar, wi-fi, plasma TV, a customer shower, demo gear to try, we promise to be keenly priced and we have our own offroad course. Who else opens out of hours for you and who else can you call if you have a bike emergency 24/7?

And thats not it, we have other ideas in the pipeline that will make your customer experience with us personal, fun and value for money.

Pricing

Trying to be competitive on price and doing that on every line we stock in the shop is impractical because of the time it takes to research online, so we've taken a decision to price our gear at £RRP as a guide and then do a deal individually on each item and with each customer. We like a deal as much as the next guy, so don't be afraid to ask us what we can do stuff for. We'll price match where we can but on some items, we can't compete with the big online retailers but what we can offer that they don't is a coffee, a chat, a bit of banter and great after-sales service!!

The Team

paul_prince.jpg
Paul Prince, co-owner
Paul's career background is in IT and continues to run his own consultancy business alongside the shop. Paul has been cycling for over 20 years and in that time, he's raced and promoted Road, Track, Time Trials, MTB and more recently Cyclo-Cross. Paul's first love is Cross now with the odd European sportive thrown in now and again.
salim_abuteir.jpg
Salim Abuteir, co-owner
Salim's a newcomer to the sport of cycling. His love of two wheels has dragged him into co-owning the shop with Paul. 'Abu' as we call him is very passionate about the shop and looking after our customers. His Hot Chocolates are legendary. The joker of the three, he's not a racer, he's best known for his 'diesel engine' riding which can see him complete anything put in front of him...but at his own pace!
pete_banham.jpg
Peter Banham, Shop Manager & Mechanic
Pete was the manager of the Bikehut in Halfords, Redditch until he joined us in May. Pete was an exceptional cross rider locally as a Junior but took some time out from racing before racing again this year on the road. He'll be ripping up the West Midlands Cross League again this Winter too (..or so he says!) so watch out for him there amongst the rest of the Cult Racing posse.
